Gosh, I think I need Zoltar for this one to predict my future.

Zoltar

In five years, I will be (as well as my husband) older and wiser!
I will be on the road driving my daughter to college while my son is in high school and will be like an "only child" at home.
Hopefully I will be in good health and great shape.
Maybe I will still be tap dancing.

I hope in five years the house will be cleaner than it is now - no more toys or sports equipment or stuffed animals!  I will probably have a big yardsale and get rid of all of that stuff.

Right now we have two dogs, maybe they will still be with us, maybe not.
They will be the last two we will have.

I like to wear hats.

Where o where has my little dog gone?
Oh where or where can he be?
- a song my Mom liked to sing.

Somewhere Out There - theme song of An American Tail (1986) sung by Linda Ronstadt & James Ingram and won a few awards.

Heads or Tails #98 - Spin

This was tough.
Go for/take a spin?
Spin the Bottle
A spinning top?
A pinwheel spins.
Spin cycle on the washing machine.
Cyclones or tornados spin
Spin Art.
Spin records (but who does that anymore?).
Spin Doctors
And the song The Windmills or Your Mind, spin is in the lyrics -- here is a link to Dusty Springfield's version and there are windmills of all kinds in it.
And another song "Spinning Wheel" (Blood, Sweat and Tears) as well as a spinning wheel which them made me think of a Whirling Dervish's Spinning Dance.

And then I thought of The Spinners - the singing group of yesteryear.
I found a video "Tribute to Spinners" but I stumbled upon something very different and laughed.  Hope you can too.

Yankee Drill

This is a Yankee Drill.  It is a hand drill that you just push and it drills.

This drill top is opened to show you where the various drill bits are stored.
Take one out, close the top, and put it in the end and do your job.

My parents got me one for Christmas late high school or college.
I still have it.  I used it many times for framing or hanging things up.
I had my own little tool box to house my little tools, like a hack saw, and a few hammers and screwdrivers, sanding block, and various pliers.

One day, my FIL finds my Yankee Drill  while working on our house.
He picked it out of my pail of tools.  He told my husband that he found it thinking it was not in the right place.  My husband said it wasn't his and I piped up and said it was mine.  He was totally astonished and speechless that I owned a tool.  The look on his face was priceless.

Heads or Tails #96 - Summer Time Memory

Our house is surrounded by woods.  We also don't have street lights where we are.
It is fun on a warm summer evening to go outside and look into the woods to see all the fireflies in action.
Sometimes we see only a few but other times we will see hundreds!

The crickets, peepers, and tree frogs provide the sound.

A free show with front row seats!

Heads or Tails #95 - Lost or Found

Lost (not the TV show)

When I was younger, the visiting grandmother (aka Grandma Trudy of Buffalo NY) of the three girls across the street gave me a knitted triangular hat she made herself. (Gave it to her middle grand-daughter, but she poo-poo-ed it, and readily handed it to me!) It was navy blue triangle with grass green trim and tie, preppy colors.  I loved it (neither of my grandmother's knitted) and wore it from elementary school till I was a junior in high school.  I lost it twice but was fortunate and overjoyed to find it except the third and last time . . .

I had no idea where I lost it.  I looked everywhere!
Naturally, it was winter when I lost it this time.
I was devastated.  My favorite hat, gone, my head would be cold.

Found

One day after school I was walking to work.  It was the end of February, the beginning of March and there was still snow and it was melting, everything was wet and would refreeze at night.
As I walked down the street, there was a big pot hole and there in the half frozen gray slush, was my HAT! Semi-frozen in suspension.  But there were too many other kids around for me to just pick it up, besides it was such a mess, and I would have to work at breaking the ice.

So the next day, I came prepared with a plastic bag and retrived it, brought it home, cleaned it up and was happy once again.

However, spring was nearing and I did not have to wear it.  I think I had to give it up the following winter because the ties eventually wore thin and broke and it began to unravel.
At that time, I did not have a creative fix solution to save it after many years of wear.

Fun to think about it and how happy it made me.
Fun to think about just knowing Grandma Trudy and her kindness.
(Made me pillows, Barbie clothes, and other goodies!)
Annoying to my children, I have to drive by the exact spot in my home town and re-tell the story of my favorite hat and Grandma Trudy and how lucky and brave I was on a winter day saving it.

Notice his signature -- how original and creative is that?
Here is a little tribute to a true song and dance man who can tap and sing a tune.
