Reply to Raggedtiger's post about what blogging platform do you prefer. Well, I have more blogs than I can count. Some are backup blogs for my main blogs at tBlog and Shoutpost. The great thing about tBlog and Shoutpost is that they get into the search engines very fast. I never see an ebloggy account in any google search I do. I do agree about the tblurt helping you get visitors just by chatting it up. tBlog has the best features of the two, more control over your template, tblurt, ability to reply to a comment, stats, etc. Shoutpost is easy to use but is limiting to a point. I am disappointed in the fact that when people come off a search and the link is to the archives, posts from the 1-8th do not show up! If you have a direct link to the post, then it shows but otherwise, I think this is a major turn off. No categories or tags at either place and archives are by the month making the side bar exceedingly LONG! I looked at Blogdrive and am getting a blog for my neighborhood there because I like the choices of templates (WOW!). However, I have also read many complaints (accessing accounts denied) about their service and the amount of spam some bloggers get in their blogs there. While looking over there, I noticed many abandoned blogs so you have to ask why if you want visitors. I would think with a history blog, you would want categories or tags and have a site that gets into a search engine fast for people looking for the info you are putting out there. I would recommend Blogger or Wordpress/Blogsome (more serious and professional looking) for that. Wordpress/Blogsome offers stats and files. Put your links to your blogs on your sidebar so we can visit. Just a few thoughts and my two cents. Thanks for viewing this as I am testing out the file system here at Penny Lane (which has monthly bandwidth limitations). You can leave comments since you are viewing in a new window. Jean
