Well -- I just learned that if you get tons of spam comments, if you shut off your comments, ALL previous comments get deleted!
Had I known that (no warning specified on the settings page) -- I would not have done that, but gosh, how many red scars in any post would scare off a visitor from commenting?
I suggest any of the following --
1. Allow bloggers to turn off comments without losing them (so they can go on vacation and not worry about spam taking over).
2. Add comment verification to posts.
3. Or use Open ID to post comments.
4. Allow comments to be turned off/closed per post.
So, now that my blog has been unwittingly cleaned up, and looks like no one ever says anything here (but thousands have had lots to say over the past few years), I guess maybe I should do a bit more house cleaning here myself and revamp this place.
Out with the old and in with the new.
I apologize to all those who have left some great comments in the past that your kind words, thoughts, or funny stories have been deleted forever by accident of an unknown click on my behalf.
Search by Tags on Terapad

Terapad has recently changed its search on each blog.
Before you could search by word or phrase.
Now you can only search by the tag you use when making a post.
Pages are searchable from the site search because they do allow key word tags like a blog entry.
Tags are not visible to the public on each blog.
There is no tag cloud available for templates.
Your visitors would have to guess at what tags you used.
Tags can only be view on the Terapad Community pages, which most people do not know how to get to. Click here to view (opens in a new window)
As you can see, everyone's tags are on that page which means if you click on one, then everyone who used that tag, their blog will show up.
I have tagged most of my entries with "Penny Lane" so you can see my list of latest entries here.
Some people do not use tags so their sites would be difficult to search.
This leads to another issue -- the ability to click on "older entries" to find something you formally had seen, you can't do it. The number of entries on the main page are controlled by the blogger and their personal settings.
What does this mean for me with a few years worth of tags?
It means, if I have the time, I have to redo all my tags and possibly make a custom page with the tags I have used, just to search myself for something or give my viewers a clue.
Tags are not visible when looking at your "news" (blog) entry page.
You have to open up each news article (edit) to view the tags or change them then save.
With this new system, this creates more work for the "older Terapad" blogger, if they have the time to fix all their entries one by one, not like Blogger with the "correct/change a tag system" for all posts with a click off, then change and save.
I also noticed that a search at Google for a blog entry, I am not getting the results I wish, so there is something going on there I have yet to figure out. I even tried to add a Google search on this blog with no luck (probably because most free blogs here have Google AdSense.)
All in all, the new search change, is not for the better in my opinion.
However, I shall have to get use to this perk loss.
Lastly, you can find a calendar listing by year and month and title of blog articles per each blog on the Archives Page (mine is here). This page is listed at the bottom of the main page on each individual blog. You can collect the URL and place it in a HTML container box on your sidebar, like on mine, so people can see it in a better location.

My husband was amazed and happy for me.
I told my children I had news for them. "Not about your blog?" they whined as they looked at the screen. So I show them the winner announcement post. My son was disappointed that he would lose me more to the blogging world and keeps on asking why I do this. (He is screen addicted himself -- GameBoy, TV, Computer, etc)
My daughter said I was "the oldest blogger alive, a digital immigrant".
I guess they are happy for me . . . maybe . . . just a little? LOL

Can you move one file into another or do you have to reupload it into the file you wish it to be in? Thanks.
Update: No -- you cannot move/transfer something (with a click) from one file to another.
You must upload it again into the file you wish it to be in and delete it from the original file.
There is a limitation of files that can be uploaded at one time and they must not exceed a certain amount of space.
Suggestion -- keep text document copies of your CSS layouts in your document asset file in their own file.

Thanks for the upgrade report.
I do hope you consider giving the admins of blogs comment monitoring and or editing comment tools.
One person left a comment and link to a site that registered this blog Penny Lane, as a customer. You can see it under my G u e s t Bo ok. The word "po w er -- m a ll" is showing up in my word cloud stats.
When I checked the Google link from my stats and then went to the site, there was my blog title and a personal talking message directed at ME as being invited by that spam post.
I have not removed it because I really don't like the delete scar on a guest book. Can't we just delete without a scar, is that coming, otherwise, blogs could look very messy.

Well, just a quick note -- the change on the entry page is really great!
Maybe in the future, you could put up six or nine smaller thumbnails of featured blogs just for variety and visual effect.
I saw more changes are coming in the next few months, that is great! Can't wait to see what they are. Makes me want to hop out of bed every morning and see what is new around here. LOL
I am really happy here. Very nice product and easy to use.
I even have my own notes to myself on a page! Helps me remember, maybe it might help someone else.
One wishlist item -- the ability to monitor comments before they are posted.
Enough talking to myself! Anyone care to comment?
